Model Answer:
The diagram illustrates the life span of the salmon. Overall, the entire process includes seven stages, starting from eggs and finishing with a fully grown spawning fish.
According to the picture, the salmon’s life cycle begins with the eggs laid in fresh water, which take about 3 months to hatch and give birth to alevins feeding on yolk-sac during several subsequent weeks. Within the following steps of the process, an alevin develops into a fry that is between 5 and 10 weeks old, has the appearance of fish and is able to swim.
Several months later, a fry grows into a parr whose body has ‘finger’ markings, and at the age of at least 1-3 years old the parr becomes the smolt which is characterized by grouping with other smolts and heading out to sea. The concluding stages of this life cycle involve an adult salmon that normally spends 1 to 8 years at sea and a spawning adult whose life culminates in spawning new eggs and dying during 2 weeks afterwards.

The diagram makes an overview of life span of the salmon fish. As an overall trend, the process involves seven stages, beginning with egg-spreading in fresh water and ending with a fully grown of spawning fish.
As it can be seen on the diagram, the primary stage of the life cycle is destribution of eggs, which hatches during 3 months and give birth to alevins feeding of yolk-sac during several subsequent weeks. Within the consequent steps, an alevin evolves into a fry that is between 5 to 10 week-period, has the small size and able to swim. Several months later, fry changes to a parr whose body has “finger” markings on top of the fish back, after 1-3 years it begin to gain weight and develops into a smolt from will group, which is capable to head out to sea. The stages concluding life process are adult experience in the water within the 8 year period at sea and spawing adult life whose life culminates in spawning new eggs and dying during 2 weeks afterwards.
